Product Description The gift of life's eternal wisdom! The cross and loop or circle symbol known as the Ankh has come to be one of the most widely recognized symbols in the world--honored and/or used in rituals by many religions in many cultures around the globe and through time. It gained huge popularity in the 60s when it became an antiestablishment, anti-war symbol, as Lon Milo Duquette points out in his introduction. The Ankh: Key of Life includes a silver-colored Ankh on a black silken cord and an informative illustrated book about the Ankh's history and meaning plus a plethora of ideas for wearing and using your Ankh in a meaningful way. If any symbol on earth could hold such power it is certainly the Ankh. It is the consensus among many modern esotericists that the Ankh was designed to be recognized by the ancient eye as a simple sandal strap. This is my favorite theory for it suggests to me the secret that life is a journey each of us must make one step at a time. It's simply a matter of going--a process of voluntary movement--a willed commitment to move on, move up, and become something greater than we now are. "What a fitting symbol for the world's most respected and venerable publisher of esoteric literature." -from the Introduction * Features a silver-colored Ankh pendant on a silken cord * A perfect companion to Celtic Cross kit and The Green Man kit

| Customer Reviews: I liked it partially because it came to me in a curious way... June 16, 2008 Larry Briley (Plantation, Fl United States) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I met a nice girl as I was shopping the spiritual section and she noticed I was looking over some book on Egyptian Magic. She approached me and was wearing a very nice heavy gold ankh and asked me if I would like to have one. I said of course but that her's was much to nice to take. She laughed and handed me "The Ankh" and offered it to me as a gift-very strange indeed. We had tea together (Borders, Plantation, Florida-very nice store) and talked for about a half hour. We had a nicely strange and interesting conversation which I will not go into but now I am the proud owner of an Ankh from a very gracious stranger and a fairly informative but small book that I pleasantly enjoyed-nothing heavy-and I need some lighter fare so it seems to have come along at a nice time.
I would suggest it as a gift for the beginning mystic friend or family member-I would make a nice gift for someone - as it did for me!
Peace,
Larry
Not Worth More than $5 December 8, 2007 ~ T. James ~ (Charlotte, NC) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I love ankhs, as I've adopted it as my spiritual symbol, so I thought this book would be a nice addition. It's not. I decided to send it back after the first day of reading. For one, it's really small and thin. The information in it isn't anything you couldn't find doing a 15 minute search on the Internet. I wanted something more in-depth, but this wasn't it.
On a positive note, it comes with a nice ankh, but beware...it's silver-COLORED, not silver. And still not worth the entire book purchase.
